Adidas Pure Boost X Trial x Runners Need
If there's one thing I love, it's an event that combines loads of my favourite things - working out, running, food, smoothies and booze. Oh, damn, we didn't have the last one actually but still, we made do.
I went along to the Adidas x Runners Need event (don't you love a collab?! I love an 'x') to trial/launch and give general exposure to the new Pure Boost X trainers. Having generally gone for trainers which are either GOOD FOR ME (my Brooks running trainers are practically orthapedic because of my IT band troubles) or which are cheap, i.e. I picked them up in a Nike outlet in the States. In terms of style, I've historically opted for Nikes because dey so street. I've never bought Adidas or considered them to run in so I was excited to try.
I rocked up to the uber cool 1Rebel with my friend Juliana, we popped on our new trainers and we hit the treadmills for a Reshape class. I've done Reshape before (you can see my the lowdown on it here) so I knew what to expect, but still the class was such a hard workout. I don't go back to the same studios enough to get to know different teachers but this session was lead by a super positive, bouncy and excellent timer-of-music-for-sprints Melissa Weldon. Would thoroughly recommend her classes and she looks like a femi power badass from her instagram too.
45 minutes later, we were high fiving our way out of the session, taking selfies and comparing how red we had gone. That is until the super encouraging Adrienne (PT-runner-abs-to-die-for babe) took us on a jolly to King Cross Runners Need where we were finishing up with a little partay. (FYI Adidas guys, that was definitely more like a 5km run than a 3km jog! We loved it though.)
At Runners Need we were greated by loads of food, super cool hair braiders from The Braid Bar (who had absolutely no problem braiding my really sweaty post workout hair, thanks guys!), smoothies, a glitter bar (yes, really! Wednesday night glitter bar vibes!), photo booth and goodie bags - party on!
I really do love it when brands throw these kinds of events. Fair play to 1Rebel, Adidas and Runners Needs for putting them on (for free!) and showing your customers a right ole good time. Juliana wasn't sure about the Boosts although she thought they were coming up too small on her. I really loved them - it felt great to give my feet some freedom, compared to the inflexible shoes I normally run in, and I felt really bouncy and light despite the fact that my legs couldn't have been heavier after back to back workout. Thanks for having us guys, you all rock.
